We hit Turntekk studios the other day to record a live video of one of our songs 'Firefly'. Check it out below:
We have a new song for you as well! It's called 'Deep Water' and can be heard over on SoundCloud:

A busy December weekend!
Wassup peeps; we hope this post finds you in good fettle.
We had a busy one this weekend: BBC Radio Devon Introducing early on Saturday morning, a gig a The North Bridge Inn in Exeter that evening, then a trip up to Manchester for the Open Mic UK area final.
Bleary eyed, we all got in the car Saturday morning and went down to Plymouth to meet John Govier of BBC Radio Devon. He is a lovely chap - larger than live, witty and a great presenter to boot. We joined a packed show including other bands such as The Sunday Sky Club, plus numerous other singer-songwriters and guests. We were lucky enough to play four songs: 'Favourite Shoes', 'With you Eyes', 'Firefly' and 'Summer Romance'. In addition, we got to have a good natter about the band, and Alex got to teach the studio (and the audience!) the rudiments of beatboxing, which was great fun!
A big shout and and thanks go to John for having us on the show, and we hope to make another appearance in the New Year. You can find John on twitter here: http://twitter.com/JohnGovier
We then headed out to the North Bridge Inn in Exeter, where we played our current set to a number of friends, family and pub goers. We had a great time and as usual relished the chance to show off our music to people in our home town.
Our next gig is in Camden, London at Proud Camden. For other gig dates, please check out our site: http://thejessedansons.tumblr.com/gigs

Latest gigs and Open Mic UK in Manchester
Hey everyone,
We hope you're doing real goooood. Things are sweet in The Jesse Dansons household at the mo. We've had a busy weekend of gigs; one at the Firehouse and one at The Oddfellows - both here in Exeter. Both gigs were awesome, and we thoroughly enjoyed playing many of the new songs we have been working on.
This coming week we are rehearsing hard in preparation for a spot on BBC Devon Introducing with John Govier. We will be on from 9am this Saturday (3rd) and we would LOVE you to tune in and see what you think. You can find out more about the show here.
Also on Saturday 3rd from 8pm we have a gig at the North Bridge Inn in Exeter! Come down take a listen and say hello! Location and directions to the North Bridge can be found here.
Then it's the big one on Sunday where we travel up to Manchester to play in the regional semi-final of Open Mic UK! We will be doing a mix of an original called 'His Mother Said' and The Kooks 'Naive'. It's going to be huge!
More updates soon.

New single - 'Deep Waters' coming soon!
We have all been working hard in the studio recently laying down guitars, bass, synth, vocals etc, and getting a feel for how the track’s coming together. It’s sounding BRILLIANT! Alex (Beatboxer/Producer) is doing a stella job and we’re all super excited to see what everyone thinks of it come release.
The song is called ‘Deep Waters’ and will be released early next year.

Our audition for Britain's Got Talent
In true Jesse Dansons style, we caused a right old fuss up in Cardiff the other day at the Britain's Got Talent audition. The T&Cs weren't overly clear on the form, so not only did we confer with the staff and producers there, but we felt it necessary to go the whole hog and speak with the BGT lawyer!
Thankfully our questions were answered (there were lots of terms concerning rights to music) and we were fast tracked through to the audition where a judge watched our latest YouTube video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QpTdf3re5L8). She seemed to enjoy it a lot and kept a few DVDs of the footage as well. We'll hear back in February on whether we're lucky enough to feature in the live shows.
We had a good road trip up there and back; the only dampener being the weather (pardon the pun) and the M5 Taunton crashes where several lost their lives. We were on the same strip of road going South bound and must have narrowly missed it. We would like to offer our sincere condolences to the families who lost loved ones and a speedy recovery to those who were injured.

The Jesse Dansons rock Open Mic UK!
Hello everyone!
So the played a gig on Sunday 30th October for the Open Mic UK competition. Open Mic UK is a national competition run by Future Music for bands, songwriters, singers, etc, and attracts thousands of entrants to play at heats, regional finals, then if you’re lucky enough; the big one at the O2 in London.
Having already qualified via a round in Cardiff earlier this year, we hit Aldershot to feature in the regional finals. After a sound check, we were sent off to a green room whilst the venue filled up. It was a big stage and a big audience as well, so we couldn’t wait to go out and do our thing.

The talent on show was of a very high standard and I know I can speak for the other guys by saying it was impressive to hear the other acts both in the sound check and their live performances which were piped down to the green room.
As said we couldn’t wait to hit the stage and we relished playing a mix of one of our original songs ‘His Mother Said’ and The Kooks ‘Naive’. It was a great experience and WE GOT THROUGH!
Next we’ll play Manchester on December 4th in the semi-final to get the chance to play at the O2. Perhaps best of all though, we were approached by two of the judges following the gig and not only did they heap praise, but they commented that if we keep doing our thing, we could win the whole thing! This was lovely to hear of course, but we’re going to stay modest and work as hard as we can for the next round, and put on the best show we can.
Here's a vid of the set we performed:
